Calcium chloride is a highly hygroscopic inorganic salt, commonly available in 94% anhydrous calcium chloride and 74% dihydrate calcium chloride. 94% calcium chloride has higher purity and stronger hygroscopic capacity, and is mainly used in demanding applications such as industrial desiccants, oil drilling fluids, snow-melting agents, refrigerant brine, concrete early-strength agents, and chemical raw materials. 74% calcium chloride contains water of crystallization, has better stability, and is less expensive, making it widely used in road snow melting, dust suppression, water treatment, building antifreeze, and livestock farming.
